The fourth annual ICE (Information Communication Entertainment) 2019 was held from September 4- 7, 2019 at the college auditorium with the theme, 'Creativity: An attitude'. Event competitions were based on painting, creative art (best out of waste), extempore speech, elocution, debate, quiz, spelling bee, singing & dancing. The inaugural session of the fest started with a traditional programme where the students presented cultural songs, dance with their traditional attires. The fest culminated with an extravaganza evening with performances by bands from Cornerstone Higher Secondary School and Perfect Escape. Lika A Zhimo, V semester, was declared the overall winner while Tunavi G Swu and Nika H Khulu (both V semesters) were declared 1st and 2nd runners up.
A one-day National Seminar on Research Methodology in Social Sciences was organized on 26th July 2019 in the Zunheboto Govt. College, Zunheboto by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the Research Committee, and the College community. The Special Guest for the inaugural session was Shri. Peter Lichamo, Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, College Advisory Board. He congratulated the College for organizing the seminar and assured that the best contributions from the administration would be provided for the betterment of the College. The seminar was organized for the benefit of young researchers in India, especially, the North East and particularly Nagaland. The objectives of the seminar were to understand and clarify issues related to research methodology, to provide an in depth understanding of itsapplication and to provide hands-on experience in data processing and analysis. The seminar covered approaches to Social Science research, quantitative, qualitative and integrated approaches, classification of research design, statistical procedures/testing using SPSS software. There were two technical sessions and various topics and subtopics related to the theme of the seminar were presented by the resource persons drawn from across the country, particularly from Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore;Bharathidasan University, Trichirappalli;Vinayaka Mission University, Salem; Periyar University, Salem; Pondicherry University, Puducherry; Gandhigram Rural University, Dindigul, Tamil Nadu; Viswabarathi, Shantiniketan, West Bengal; Mizoram University,Aizawl; ICFAI, Dimapur, Nagaland; Nagaland University,Lumami; SCS,Zunheboto; and also Professors from the College. The Keynote address on “Introduction and Report Writing of Thesis” for the first technical session was delivered by Dr. AthungoOvung, Asst. Professor, Department of Sociology; and that on “Data Analysis and Interpretation” was delivered by Dr. GiriBabu, Asst. Professor, Department of Economics both from Nagaland University. The inaugural session was chaired by Dr. T. Chandrasekharan, HoD, Department of English & Coordinator, IQAC. Smt. LipokrenlaJamir, Asst. Professor, Department of Political Science, said the invocation prayers. The welcome note was delivered by Dr. K. NishenaNekha, Principal, while vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. M. Pushparaj, HoD, Department of Economics & Convener, Research Committee. During the valedictory session, final report of the seminar was presented by Dr. C. Periasamy, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics & Organizing Secretary, while valedictory address was delivered by Shri. H. JekughaSema, Vice Principal of the College. The seminar concluded with a valedictory session and distribution of certificates.
The NSS unit of the College participated in the second phase of Yuva Shakti Rally to spread the Poshan message of PM’s overarching scheme for Holistic Nourishment sponsored by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Govt. of Nagaland on 29th September 2018.
A Career Guidance Programme was organised in the College by 5 Assam Rifles, Zunheboto on 28th September 2018 to provide guidance to the young graduants to face the competitive world confidently.
The newly constructed College Gate was inaugurated by Smt. Kuholi Chishi, Director, Higher Education on 21st September 2018. The occasion was further marked by celebration of the 38th College Foundation Day and the 3rd Annual ICE Fest under the theme “Conquer from Within” held from 21st to 23rd September 2018.
The NSS Unit of the College participated in the Swachhata hi seva at Zunheboto town on 15th September 2018.
The PA to Hon’ble Minister, Higher and Technical Education along with his team entoured the college and held discussions with the Faculty on 13th September 2018.
The College Sports Week was held from 11th to 13th September 2018.
The Department of Economics organised an awareness programme on Competitive Examination by inviting the Guest Speaker, Mr. Puloketo Achumi, Geologist, on 6th September 2018.
The Zunheboto Govt. College Students’ Union (ZGCSU) election was held on 18th August 2018.
On the occasion of the Independence Day, the NSS Unit of the College extended a charity visit to the district jail.
Shri. Imna Temjen Along, Hon’ble Minister, Higher and Technical Education, along with his team, visited the College on 31st July 2018.
The 38th Freshers’ Social Meet was held on 28th June 2018.
The Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA) team visited the College on 22nd June and subsequently, the College was awarded with a ‘B’ Grade with 2.48 CGPA.
The NSS Unit observed the 4th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2018.
A Plantation and Cleanliness drive was jointly organised by the NSS Unit and the Department of Environment Science to mark the occasion of the World Environment Day on 5th June 2018.
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College organized a Faculty Workshop on 19th May 2018.
Shri. Tokugha Sukhalu, Advisor, School Education, visited the College on 17th April 2018 and held discussions with Principal and faculty relating to College development.
