Description

The Department of Economics has been offering various papers of study since the very inception of the College in 1980. Honours courses were introduced during the 2010 session and in consonance with the national pattern, semester system was introduced during the 2012 academic session.

Mission

  • The Economic programme helps students think critically about economic issues they confront in their lives and develop a commitment to be actively engaged with policy issues in local, national and global communities.
  • To train the students at the undergraduate in the methods and ideas of both traditional and modern Economics and to conduct both basic and applied research in Economics.
  • To increase student’s ability to think objectively, critically and imaginatively encourage intellectual curiosity and enhance the ability and develop effective oral and written communication skills.
  • To provide pathway to a diverse set of career opportunities including job in Private Company, Finance Marketing Computer Information system, even Health Care Management, Journalism, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, etc.
